A Master Planned Community

In 1994, after 10 years of planning and approvals, development began at Lakewood Ranch, a 5,500-acre master-planned community east of I-75 on the Manatee-Sarasota county line. Its proximity to the interstate affords easy access to two international airports, two seaports and all major Florida destinations. Residential options include single-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, apartments and an assisted-living facility. Lakewood Ranch is one of Florida’s fastest-growing master-planned residential and business centers.

Lakewood Ranch has received the Grand Aurora Award for the Best Planned Community Design in the Southeast, the Excel Award for the Best Master Planned Community of the Year, among others. Lakewood Ranch was recently voted "Best Neighborhood" two years in a row by the readers of Sarasota magazine.

Private schools include the acclaimed Out of Door Academy. The community is also home to the Manatee County College Lakewood Ranch campus and Keiser College.

A Place To Shop

Town Center's Market Square features an open mall anchored by a Publix Super Market and adjoining retail shops and restaurants. The mile-long Lake Uihlein is the backdrop for upscale shopping and dining on Main Street. Boutique-style stores and upscale restaurants border a tree-lined promenade that leads to a bandstand park designed for picnics, art shows and outdoor concerts. This destination-style shopping attraction offers upscale shopping with a hometown feel.

Lakewood Ranch Medical Campus

This 30-acre medical campus developed by Universal Health Services and Manatee Memorial Hospital provides families with a wide range of medical services. Manatee Memorial Hospital opened a 120-bed acute-care hospital, complete with emergency care, outpatient services and a woman's center. Adjacent to the hospital is a 60,000-square-foot medical office building, which houses physician offices as well as diagnostic and laboratory facilities.

The Country Club
